When I was younger I couldn't wait to see the presents by the tree and open them
When I was younger I'd play with all my toys, that's what gave me joy way back then
never needed any more, that's what it was for
I was happy to be in my own world
Christmas time is once more mine now that you're here, it's all clear
Christmas season now has reason, I understand when I hold your hand
you have brought my way the magic of this day
that I had lost
When I got older with nothing good to bring it didn't mean a thing if family's there
When I got older I'd try to run and hide, keep myself inside I didn't care
It was really such a shame, but I couldn't play the game
